I auditioned for The Voice UK before COVID, and the process was fun and easy. I wanted to make an impression, so I walked into the audition room with a cartwheel! I sang Natural Woman by Aretha Franklin, and when I finished, the judges clapped and complimented me.
When I found out I was selected, I was shocked and exhilarated. Unfortunately, soon after, COVID hit, and the show was canceled. Even though I didn’t get to compete, being chosen for The Voice was a huge confidence boost—it showed me that I had what it took to be in a major singing competition.
